There are a lot of people that are making lots of
money every month just by selling things on eBay. If you browse around
eBay and wonder who these people are, you will notice these people have
a PowerSeller icon. This means they make around $1000 or higher a month
just through selling. That is impressive considering the fact that you
do all the work at home, but only possible if you actually have things
to sell.
If you have no idea what to sell, you won't be
making any money so you need to think about how you can contribute to
eBay and supply any demands as much as you can. You can get some ideas
by following these basic tips.
List all of the Items That You do not Need
The first step of selling in eBay or preparing an
eBay store is similar to the first step in setting up a garage sale.
You should write down any items that no longer need and are sellable so
you can get an idea on how much you can make if all the items are sold.
It is better if you can put estimated prices for every listed item as
it makes for easy totaling.
Understand the eBay Selling Policies
The list that you made in the previous step won't
be your final list because eBay has a large list of items that are
prohibited from direct selling. This includes illegal items, firearms,
used cosmetics, food, and other things that are listed at pages.ebay.com/
help/policies/items-ov.html.
Cross out all the items on your list that match the prohibited list of
items and then get another total.
Check eBay Pulse to see what Items are in Great
Demand
Now that you have a list of items that can be
posted on eBay, you can cross check your list with the popular searches
on eBay Pulse. On the main page of
pulse.ebay.com,
you will find the top 10 popular searches listed. If you don't see any
items that you have listed, don't turn around just yet because you can
check the top 10 searches per category and you might find something
that is similar to what you have available for sale. List these items
first and you might wind up with quick sales. eBay Pulse frequently
updates too so you should check every day or every week.
Get into Reselling if None of the Products Match
the List
This is an optional step only if you want to make
sales quickly because the chances of you making sales from items that
are not popularly searched are lower and highly depends on the activity
of the buyers. You can still meet the demands by buying items that are
listed in eBay Pulse from other eBay sellers and then selling them for
a slightly higher price for profits.
These basic tips should help you sell items even
if your inventory of items to sell is lower than that of the
PowerSellers. If you are still having trouble getting ideas on what to
sell, look around the many categories of eBay and see what other people
are selling. You might get some fresh ideas if you spend enough time.
